Together with Luis Frank Arias alias THE MACRY, TIMBA is making a series of Dirty Urban Sound productions. This is the new street sound to be heard all over Cuba which sends young things in Havana and the whole of Cuba into ecstasies. The first production (The Macry Presents La Operacion, order no. 59819-2) has already created a furore in DJ circles. The Macry now proudly presents the BALOCHAS, one of the hottest street bands from Havana. They make music with whatever is available. It doesn’t matter if the programmes or the sounds are years old. No, creative and relaxed performance is the most important thing. The right energy has to be brought over.

THE MACRY, who has gone through all Cuban musical styles, from first vocals in COMPAY SEGUNDO to the SONEROS DE VERDAD (with whom he was awarded the German Jazz Prize in 2003), to salsa of the AFRO CUBAN ALL STARS or his Cuban hip-hop CD “Homeland” ), is the best possible presenter for this exciting new series, being a true expert on the Cuban scene.
